Evgenia Nekrasova is a writer and screenwriter. Her prose cycle "Unhappy Moscow" was awarded the "Lyceum" prize. She was born in the Astrakhan region, spent her childhood in the Moscow region, and now lives in Moscow. She graduated from the Moscow School of New Cinema. In the new novel "Kalechina-Malechina", as well as in all the prose of Evgenia Nekrasova, combines magic realism, folklore and experiment, one can feel the influence of Gogol, Remizov, Platonov, Petrushevskaya.
The girl Katya lives with her parents in a small town on the 11th floor of an ordinary panel house. In Katya's world, a sharp-nosed snake appears from a factory pipe, spots on the ceiling turn into human figures, and columns of numbers are folded into poems. But the world around Katya does not need her: the "ungrown" tease, and the "grown" have no strength and time for her. And Katya finds a way out for herself. But then intervenes Kikimora, who lives behind the stove in the kitchen... Together they go on a dangerous journey, and unwittingly surpass the cruelty of those who maimed them. "Kalechina-Malechina" is a novel about despair and misunderstanding, about the search for sympathy and mercy, about the fact that it is easy to become a monster - if no one loves you. The heroine of "Kalechina-Malechina" is both Russian Holden Caulfield and such a small, still inebriated Venichka. But Holden had his nonconformism, and Venichka had a woman on the platform in Petushki and the angels of heaven. And Katya had no one! And then - Kikimora. Evgenia Nekrasova
