The plot of this book is based on true facts. The setting is pre-perestroika Moscow with its empty shelves and high hopes. The author, a doctor by profession, talks about his youth, which fell in the 80s. The dream of entering the institute did not come true right away. Alexey Motorov graduated from medical school and worked as a nurse in the intensive care unit for several years. This experience was so vivid that the memories of it are perceived as a gripping novel, full of funny, almost anecdotal episodes and interesting signs of the times. Motorov easily and cheerfully describes the life of a huge capital hospital - with all its problems and difficulties, difficult relationships, tragic and happy moments, and sometimes with purely Soviet absurdities. The names and surnames of the characters have been changed, but everything that happens on the pages of the book actually happened.
