Yanka Dyagileva is the most famous representative of the Siberian punk movement and the Soviet rock scene.
She never gave interviews - the only article about her during her lifetime was called "Punk Star from Remote Siberia". Having lived only a quarter of a century, Yana died under unclear circumstances, but left a legacy in the form of three dozen songs that touch you first of all with their piercing, honest lyrics. In 2021, at the time of publication of this book, Yanka Dyagileva would have turned 55 years old.
The author of this publication is Kristina Power, a candidate of philological sciences, who published her book “The Structure of Artistic Space in Russian Rock Poetry: Alexander Bashlachev, Egor Letov, Yanka Dyagileva” in 2019. In her book “Yanka Dyagileva. Life and Work,” she collected interesting facts about the Siberian rock singer and conducted a series of interviews with her loved ones, including rock musicians Oleg “Manager” Sudakov and Andrey Mashnin. Kristina Power also researched Yanka Dyagileva’s texts in order to clarify some of the interpretations of the meaning of Yanka’s poetry, so that fans could get closer to the main ideas of her works, understand Yanka as a creative unit and as a person.
