A car explodes in Stockholm. Amor wanders through a police-infested, paranoid city, searching for a spare part for his drill. He has a phone in his front pocket and a knife in his back pocket. He must answer Shavi's call and stop stalking Valeria. And most importantly, he must behave as normally as possible. But what is "normal behavior"? What does it mean to be a "potential criminal"? And what happens when suspicious glances suddenly turn on you?

The novel "I Call My Brothers" is based on a column by Jonas Hassen Khemiri, published in December 2010—a week after the Stockholm terrorist attack. For twenty-four tense hours, we find ourselves inside Amor's head, where the boundaries between criminal and victim, love and chemistry, paranoia and reality become increasingly blurred. This edition also includes an open letter from Kemiri to the Minister of Justice, Beatrice Ask (translated by Natalia Aseeva), a previously unpublished story, “A Thousand Times, a Thousand Two, a Thousand Three,” and a foreword by Scandinavian philologist and specialist in Swedish literature, Polina Lisovskaya.
