Olga Fyodorovna Berggolts (1910-1975) was a Russian poet, a legendary voice of the siege of Leningrad, the author of the winged phrase "No one is forgotten, and nothing is forgotten". Almost all her life she kept diaries: both in the dark years of Stalin's repression and in the "deadly time" of the blockade. Fiction autobiography "Day Stars" Olga Berggolts considered the prologue to his main book: based on diary entries, the frankness and courage of this book was to follow Herzen's "Bygone and Thought" and "Confessions of a Son of the Century" Alfred de Musset. But the conception, which Berggolts called "the work of life," remained unrealized. "I write you slyly, my main book. I bypass all the main things in you, all my pain. It can not yet be detected," - such a record made Berggolts in May 1954. Until the time when the pain can be detected, she did not live. But the diaries, published decades after Olga Berggolts's death, became her Main Book.
