The hero of the novel, Adria Ardevol, a musician, art connoisseur, polyglot, reconsiders his life before an invisible broom sweeps away all the events from his memory one by one. He recalls his childhood and the loving care of his nanny Lola, his cold and pragmatic mother, his erudite father with his mysterious fate. The most valuable treasure of his father's antique shop was an old Storioni violin, on which lay the shadow of an old crime. However, it turns out that the story of Adria's life cannot be reduced to a few decades; it all began many centuries ago, in the Catalan monastery of Sant Pere del Burgal, and the sounds of a fantastically perfect violin created by a Cremonese master magically transform people's destinies. As a result, the world of the novel's hero is flooded with dark secrets and mystical riddles, the solution of which will take years.
