Shimada Jun'ichiro was born in Kochi Prefecture in 1976 and grew up in Tokyo. He graduated from Nihon University with a degree in Commerce. After graduating, he worked numerous part-time jobs, dreaming of becoming a writer, but to no avail. In 2009, he founded the publishing house Natsuhasha (Summer Leaves), becoming its sole employee. He lives in Tokyo with his wife and two children.

"The most important thing in life is to be needed by others."

The hero of this story works alone, for himself. He chooses what and how he will publish, works on the book himself from start to finish, and once he has a print run, he tours bookstores himself, hoping to get his new releases on the shelves. He knows that good books don't always become bestsellers. But that's no reason not to write good books.

He doesn't strive to publish a bestseller for tens or hundreds of thousands of readers. His goal is to find one specific person who will love the book, want to reread it, and happily put it on their shelf.

A heartfelt story about the importance of finding a job you love, dedicating yourself to something that brings you joy and benefits others.
