In secondary school, as in elementary school, the most important thing for us in the learning process is still not the formal transmission of a set of information to our young students, but the awakening of their interest in each subject studied. Perhaps even a love for it. This applies to all subjects, history included. Perhaps history even more so, since it is a fundamental worldview school subject. Two things are important for us - to instill love for the history of the Fatherland, love for the Fatherland itself, love for the people who lived and live in it, and to instill a sense of belonging to our land and its people.
The textbooks by historians Sergei and Tatiana Perevezentsev, authors of the line of Russian history textbooks for grades 6 through 11, fit our goals and objectives as well as tell children about the Orthodox foundation of Russian statehood without unnecessary embarrassment. Perhaps this lack of shyness was one of the reasons for the exclusion of these textbooks from the federal list of recommended textbooks. But what was a disadvantage for the system is a definite plus for us.
