This six-volume edition publishes the first complete Russian translation of "The History...," based on the manuscript, taking into account all the discrepancies and edits made by the author at various stages, including his drafts, sketches, and other contributions.
Since the Venetian's views on Russia are of particular interest to the reader, the "Supplements" section also includes texts by G. Casanova, translated into Russian for the first time, as well as correspondence with his Russian correspondents.
Most of the translation of "History..." was completed by E. V. Trynkina, renowned for her masterful translations of French classics. She also compiled most of the notes, as well as annotated indexes and a chronology of Casanova's life and work.
