The book "Individualism and Economic Order" consists of economic and political-philosophical works of one of the greatest thinkers of the 20th century, an outstanding economist, Nobel Prize winner F. A. Hayek (1899-1992). Written in the 30-40s, they became classics and largely determined the development of modern economic and social theory. The title of the collection is associated with one of the key themes in the work of F. Hayek: why are some versions of philosophical individualism incompatible with the ideals of a free society, paving the way for totalitarianism? The book presents famous articles on socialist planning, which reveal the theoretical inconsistency of various models of socialism - from the "classical" K. Marx to the "market" O. Lange, as well as an analysis of the market as an information system that is capable of coordinating disparate knowledge scattered among millions of people unfamiliar with each other.
