After her grandmother's death, Yeonhwa inherits a traditional sweet shop. Business has been sluggish for some time, and Yeonhwa intends to sell the family business as soon as possible, but her will stipulates that the shop's doors must remain open for at least a month, from 10 p.m. to midnight. Now Yeonhwa must master the art of customer service and the preparation of traditional desserts. But Hwawoldang is far from an ordinary shop: some customers come from far away... and not even from the living world. A mysterious black cat and a local shaman, who surprisingly knows a lot about the shop and its former owner, constantly linger nearby. Together, Yeonhwa helps the spirits of the dead convey their final messages to their loved ones and find long-awaited peace. In the process, she uncovers a sad secret about her own family...
