Syntax is a section of Russian language grammar, which studies the connection of words into syntactic constructions based on syntactic relations: word combination, sentence and text. Syntax literally means not only composing, but also ordering, coordinating, connecting words into a coherent text. The study of syntax develops speech, helps to build sentences correctly, forms the ability to express thoughts logically, as well as to put punctuation marks correctly. Part II of the textbook "Grammar of the Russian Language" - "Syntax", republished by the forces of "Stalin's Primer", has undergone a thorough revision to bring the rich theoretical basis in line with modern rules of syntax of the Russian language. During the editing and preparation of the book, the original presentation of theoretical materials and the selection of exercises inherent to the Soviet teaching methodology have been preserved.
