Yuri Mamleev (1931–2015) — writer, philosopher. Founder of the metaphysical realism movement in Russian prose. Winner of the Andrei Bely Prize. The book “A Voice from Nothingness” contains stories written in the 1970s–1980s.

Doroteya Shemyakina (1964–2018) — painter, book graphic artist, sculptor, jeweler. She illustrated Gustav Meyrink’s novels “Golem” and Albert Camus’ “The Plague”, and a collection of Spanish poetry “Tauromachie”. The hyperrealistic scenes of communal life in Mamleev’s illustrations for stories have been compared to the merciless grotesque of late Goya.
