James Edwin Gunn (1923 - 2020) was an American fiction writer, critic, teacher, professor at the University of Kansas, and founder of the Starjon and Campbell Memorial Awards. He is a two-time Hugo Award winner, a Nebula Grandmaster, and the author of nearly two dozen novels and more than one hundred short stories and novellas. The collection includes novels and stories from the collections "Time of Sorcery" and "The Future Imperfect", which represent the most popular themes of science fiction in the 1960-1970s: anxiety for the future of the world, irony about the "war of the sexes", magic, psychoanalysis, artificial intelligence and much more... The story "Wherever You Are" from the moment of publication in our country enjoyed great reader love and was twice transferred to the screen.
