The Formula of Death: Chemical Weapons from the Trenches of World War I to the 21st Century
9.99 €
Chemical weapons became one of the symbols of 20th-century warfare. The unexpected results of the use of toxic agents in World War I made chemical weapons one of the most terrifying. Most publications on this type of weaponry examine only the chemicals themselves and their effects on the human body, as well as the history of their use. Tactical issues—how to use these weapons in combat and how to integrate them with military operations—are largely ignored.

Vitaliy Ilinich's new book examines the most significant types of chemical weapons, their impact on combat operations, methods of use, tactical advantages and disadvantages, and the combination of toxic agents and conventional weapons in offensive and defensive actions. Particular attention is paid to the use of chemical weapons in accordance with military doctrines of the first half of the 20th century, the use of various types of military equipment during chemical attacks, and the interactions between chemical, nuclear, and biological weapons. The publication includes diagrams of tactical interactions between army units when using chemical agents.
