The novel "Double Portrait" is about an unexpected meeting of two great people: the writer Agatha Christie and the artist Oskar Kokoschka.
On the eve of Christie's 80th birthday, the husband and grandson of the writer orders the famous Austrian artist her portrait. Despite her inner resistance, she agrees to pose. The reader witnesses six sessions during which the characters have long conversations and gradually find common ground. The writer and the artist go from almost complete rejection of each other to a sincere friendship that lasted until the end of Agatha Christie's life.
