The work "Precious History" (17th century) occupies a special place in the Mongolian historiographic tradition. It is the only Mongolian chronicle translated into Manchu and Chinese (18th century), woodblock printed in Beijing, and recognized by the Qing court as the official history of the Mongols. This work is of great value for reconstructing Mongol history in general and the events associated with the spread of Buddhism in Mongolia. Sagan-Sechen's work has been fully translated into Russian for the first time. The translation published in this edition is based on a manuscript from the collection of Academician Ts. Damdinsuren in Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia). This scholarly translation is accompanied by an introduction characterizing the work and its sources, as well as textual and historical notes. The publication is provided with indexes.

For specialists – historians, Mongolian scholars, orientalists, for readers interested in the history of the spread of Buddhism in Mongolia and East Asia.
