A modern intellectual game with the standards of a classic detective story.
The brilliant architect Seiji Nakamura has spent his entire life building strange houses with secrets. One of them is the Waterwheel House, built in the middle of the mountains, where a normal person would never dream of living. The mansion's strange owner is confined to a wheelchair and always wears a white mask and white gloves. Here he keeps a collection of works by his father, the great artist Issey Fujinuma, nicknamed the Seer.
Only once a year are a select few allowed to visit the mansion and admire the paintings. And on one of these days, a brutal and incomprehensible murder of a housekeeper occurs—she is thrown from the balcony directly onto the rotating waterwheels. And then even more insane things happen—one of the guests literally vanishes from the room, from which it is impossible to leave unnoticed, and the second is murdered, dismembered, and burned. The police's conclusion is clear: the missing person is the killer.
Exactly one year later, the remnants of the same group return to the mansion. Among them is a new face: detective Kiyoshi Shimada. He wants to prove that his friend, accused of murder, is actually innocent and that the real culprit is among those gathered. However, the House of Waterwheels has new, terrifying surprises in store…
