Cozy investigations in a summer cottage village on the coast of the Gulf of Finland in the early 20th century.
Doctor Vasily Ottovich Falk is an aesthete, pedant and skeptic. He has never been interested in investigating murders and in the summer he was counting on a quiet vacation in his favorite "Green Meadow", where he comes every year from St. Petersburg.
But almost immediately after his arrival in the summer cottage village on the coast of the Gulf of Finland, the doctor is called to the house of an elderly widow: in the morning she was found dead... Shortly before her death, she complained to Falk that at night a gray monk appears in her garden - a sure harbinger of death.
The doctor does not believe in dark omens and understands that a murder has occurred in the village. And the further Vasily Ottovich tries to stay away from the investigation, the more he gets drawn into the search for the criminal, because it quickly becomes clear that almost every resident of the summer cottage village had reasons to wish evil to the deceased.
Promenades, swimming and tea drinking in gazebos – dacha life in the Russian Empire.
