Weather Diary (distortions)

In Alexei Konakov's semi-abstract prose, phenological observations, meteorological forecasts, housekeeping issues, and the concerns of family life are organized around one distinctly paranoid idea.
The protagonist not only feels the fundamental wrongness, the "distortion" of the world around him, but also firmly knows who exactly is to blame for this "distortion". The aplomb of insane "understanding" and the longing from the inability to change anything are combined and find an outlet in the speech - also distorted, confused, caricatured and tender at the same time.
