Keiko Furukura has been working part-time at a konbini, a Japanese convenience store, for eighteen years. She is withdrawn and unlike her peers: she lives alone, does not date anyone, and has no desire to start a family or find a permanent job. Her entire life is subordinated to the konbini routine, where she knows every product and every shelf by heart. However, those around her consider Keiko strange. She is constantly getting sideways glances and all she hears from her friends is: “You’ll find yourself a man…” But one day, a new employee appears at the konbini, who, by chance, turns Keiko’s life upside down…
