Fight for the Faith. Against the Masons.

This book, based on archival materials, publishes for the first time the major works of the outstanding church and public figure, theologian, Archimandrite Photius (Spassky). An Orthodox ascetic and zealot who wore chains, he fearlessly denounced the vices and errors of faith prevalent in society. The beginning of Photius's public ministry coincided with the widespread dissemination of Masonic lodges and heretical mystical teachings among noble circles, the main followers of which were the most influential figures in the empire. Photius challenged all these high-ranking heretics, revealing the anti-Orthodox nature of their activities in notes addressed to Alexander I himself. Through his students and admirers, the ascetic collected information on the activities of Masonic lodges, compiled lists of Masons, as well as mystical and Masonic books, which he classified into several sections: "demonic", "heretical and anti-Christian", "revolutionary", and "Masonic". During personal meetings with the Tsar, Photius managed to prove to him the criminal and socially dangerous nature of Masonic lodges, and on August 1, 1822, they were banned throughout the Russian Empire, and high-ranking Masons were forced to resign.
