Rudyard Kipling is a world-famous writer, poet and short story writer, the first Englishman to receive the Nobel Prize in Literature. At the same time, Kipling knew about the jungle firsthand. He spent the first five years of his life with his parents in India and fell in love with this amazing country forever. As a child, Rudyard heard his first fairy tales from his Indian nanny and learned new words, especially the names of plants and animals. Hathi is an elephant, Bandar is a monkey, Mowgli is a frog. These names are found in the legendary "Jungle Books", which contain all the stories about Mowgli, a boy raised in a wolf pack, and his friends and mentors. There are also many unusual names in the tales of the brave Rikki-Tikki-Tavi, the wayward Moth and the cunning Cat who walked by herself. This collection includes The Jungle Book, The Second Jungle Book, and the collection of animal tales Just Tales. All texts are published without abbreviations, including original epigraph poems, and are accompanied by unique drawings by the author and his father, the artist John Lockwood Kipling. The publication is also decorated with color illustrations by the American artist Joseph M. Gleason.
