The Big Book of Nonsense

Edward Lear (1812-1888) was a classic of nineteenth-century English literature of the absurd. This edition includes almost entirely the four major "books of nonsense" (nonsense, nonsense) published during his lifetime. They include nonsense of various genres: silly poems (limericks), silly botany, silly cooking, silly ABCs, and so on. In addition, The Big Book of Nonsense includes a number of poems published posthumously. Everything about Lear is remarkable - his graphics, paintings, travel books with views of Italy, Greece and other countries, letters, which he filled with inimitable wordplay and amusing drawings. This edition includes (translated for the first time) selected letters of Lear and excerpts from his travel diaries. All works are accompanied by the author's own drawings.
