Maurice Leblanc (1864 – 1941) was a French journalist, publicist, and author of historical fiction. He achieved true fame thanks to his elegant, witty, and incredibly captivating stories about the noble burglar Arsène Lupin, which began as a mere literary hobby. An annual Arsène Lupin festival is still held in the writer's homeland, attracting fans from around the world. Lupin's adventures have continued in novels by other authors, comics, and numerous film adaptations, and in 2021, a series about a wannabe fan of the noble burglar was released on Netflix.

Who stole the priceless necklace that once belonged to the French queen? Who will save the young widow, doomed to become the latest victim of the terrifying legend of the Thirty Coffins? Who invariably outsmarts the police, masterfully escaping any trap? Who is equally adept at both committing and solving crimes?

Of course, he is Arsène Lupin, a gentleman thief and talented amateur detective, a master of disguise, a skilled marksman and swordsman, a ladies' man, and a brilliant strategist.
