The collection includes the author's fairy tales by Josef Koshin, a story by Galina Artemyeva and fairy tales written down by the XNUMXth-century German writer Paul Pretorius. The idea of creating the book came to its compiler Galina Artemyeva in Prague, during the celebration of the release of her other book “A large collection of legends, myths, fairy tales of the Western Slavs”. Josef Koshin's tales are based on folk stories, but he is a full-fledged author of his tales. They were extremely popular with several generations of Czech readers. In Russia, these fairy tales are published for the first time. “A student waiting for a miracle, or Life in the house of Dr. Faust” - the author's story of the compiler, G.M. Artemyeva, it is based on old Prague traditions and legends about the famous doctor Faust and the fate of his house. The third section of the collection is occupied by tales about the Spirit of the Rübetsal mountains, collected by Paul Pretorius. Fairy tales about the stupid Gonza (there are a great many of them in the Czech Republic) are akin to our fairy tales about Ivan the Fool, they will be interesting and understandable to young readers. But there are also completely grown-up tales, for example, about a treacherous sister who fell in love with a robber and acted against her brother, who did everything for her; and about the subsequent punishment for the sister, a terrible punishment. Fans of entertaining children's fairy tales, and those who are looking for instructive instructions based on centuries of experience in the works of folklore, and adherents of horror - stories filled with mystical horror, will enjoy reading "Antique Tales".
