The book "1918 in Ukraine" is the fifth volume in a series devoted to the White Movement in Russia, and familiarizes the reader with the memories of participants of the events and battles in Ukraine in the period of late 1917-1918. The Civil War was fought there in a complex ideological and nationalistic confrontation.
The book is the first to present with such completeness the testimonies not only of the leaders of the anti-communist struggle, but also of its ordinary participants, allowing to visualize the situation and atmosphere of that time, the psychology and spiritual character of the first volunteers. With a few exceptions, the materials in the volume have never been published in Russia, and those published abroad are a bibliographic rarity. The volume is provided with a preface and extensive commentary, containing several hundred biographical notes on the authors and heroes of the essays, published for the first time.
