"The Blind Owl" is the magnum opus of the outstanding Iranian writer Sadeq Hedayat. The author began this story during his student days in France, and finished and published it in India almost ten years later.

A surrealist story about a broken-hearted artist who is haunted in his dreams by the shadow of an owl, and whose reality is invaded by strange people, like messengers from the other world - a woman with bottomless eyes and an old dervish with a barking laugh... "The Blind Owl" quickly gained recognition in literary circles in Europe and became the best work of Iranian literature of the 20th century.

In addition to the title story, this edition includes Sadeq Hedayat's stories - "Vagabond Akol", "Tomorrow...", "Patriot", "Hadji Morad" and the satirical play "The Legend of the Creation of the World".
