Maurice-Marie-Émile Leblanc (1864-1941) was a French writer. Initially working as a reporter for Figaro, he published several collections of short stories, but did not achieve much success. Leblanc's literary "godfather" was the influential Parisian publisher Pierre Lafitte. He suggested that he invent a hero who could compete in popularity with Sherlock Holmes. And Leblanc created Arsène Lupin - a mythical image in which the French were pleased to recognize themselves: a strong and courageous hero, cunning, insightful and, most importantly, witty: he defeats his enemies by ridiculing them. In addition to five collections of short stories, fifteen novels and three plays about Arsène Lupin, Maurice Leblanc also wrote two dozen adventure, science fiction, romance novels and collections of short stories. This volume presents the novel "The Rope Dancer", whose heroes try in vain to decipher the mysterious inscription and find treasures, linking this secret only with the castle of Roboray, and the solution turns out to be in a completely different place. But in search of treasure, they find true friends and devoted love. The novel "Victor from the Special Brigade" tells about the adventures of Arsène Lupin, the legendary hero of many of Leblanc's books.
