During the three years of its existence, the private St. Petersburg publishing house Aquilon published only 22 books, each of which was characterized by a high polygraphic level and was an example of book production of its years. In 1922, the book "Toy Festival", the text and illustrations for which were created by Yuri Cherkesov (1900-1943) for his own son Alexander, was published by the publishing house in a very small edition, and today many bibliophiles and collectors consider this bright, exquisite edition to be the rarest book of Aquilon. Cherkesov's works, which absorbed the spirit of the artists of the "World of Art", including the famous "ABC" by A. Benois, open an exciting and colorful story of a journey to the land of toys, where the boy Shurik found himself. We present a reprint of the 1922 edition and hope that this book will transport readers to a world of joy, carefree, fairy tale and wonder, and will become a decoration of the book collection of both adults and children.
