Byron Farrill is a naive young student at Earth University, struggling to adjust to the post-apocalyptic landscape of humanity's homeland. Adulthood comes all too quickly - he finds a bomb in his dorm room on campus. A radiation bomb. Byron becomes a target for an unknown assassin and is forced to drop everything and flee many light years from Earth.
He soon learns of the murder of his father, a respected businessman from Vaidemos. Stunned and grief-stricken, Byron decides to look into the causes of his father's death and finds himself embroiled in political intrigue. The saga of the rebellion begins. The investigation leads him to the depths of space and from the final battle with Tyranny depends not only the question of life and death of Byron, but freedom for the entire galaxy.
