Most of Vsevolod Sysoyev's life (and the writer lived almost 100 years!) was spent in the Amur Region. A hunter by profession, a naturalist and traveler by vocation Sysoev sincerely loved this majestic and unique region. He traveled many kilometers through the Amur taiga, including the untraveled paths of its northern regions. He initiated the settlement of sable, beaver, mink, muskrat in the vast expanses of the Far East. He was friends with hereditary Amur tiger hunters and even participated in the capture of 70 tigers! He was the head of the Hunting Department, the dean of the Khabarovsk Pedagogical Institute, and the director of the city museum of local lore... His rich experience of a naturalist, keen sense of nature and figurative language helped Sysoev to create beautiful artistic texts, praising the Amur region.
One of the most famous books by Vsevolod Sysoev was a collection of novels and short stories "Golden Rigma", illustrated with magnificent watercolors by the famous Khabarovsk artist Gennady Pavlishin. In the works of the artist the nature of the Far East is presented unusually bright, typical, full of curious tiny details, and the story itself is conveyed in the smallest detail. For middle school age.
