Later, all of these transformed into personal palaces, expensive Rolls-Royces, and other signs of class inequality. We simply call them "show-offs." In the new issue, the CHTIV editorial team decided to explore the genesis of human show-offs. How and why do people strive to demonstrate "I'm not like everyone else?" Is this good or bad? Moral or immoral? We will explore what consumer society is and how it emerged. We will recall Russia's most notorious figures—from the Mamontovs to Prince Yusupov. We will explore the structure of the rented life—from renting bouquets of flowers and cars to selling empty shopping bags from expensive boutiques on marketplaces.
