The first rifle, the first attack, arguments about the equality of women and men, sexist conflicts, the fight against revolutionaries, barracks life and meetings with famous heroes and scoundrels - all this is "Woman with a Rifle" by Boris Solonevich, which he wrote while sitting in a Belgian prison. The novel was written from the drafts of Nina Krylova, who served in the women's death battalion of Maria Bochkaryova - lieutenant and cavalier of St. George in the Russian army. The book is collated and supplemented with stories and materials by Lieutenant Magdalina Skrydlova (Walter), who also served with Bochkaryova, Protopresbyter Fr. Alexander Shabashev, who witnessed the battalion's battles, and other eyewitnesses of the events. The original edition, published in Buenos Aires in 1955, served as the basis for the preparation of the text. The present text has undergone only minor proofreading, unrelated to the content of the work.
