The presented book is the first part of a dilogy dedicated to the events of the Cold War era, mainly related to the use of aviation in this confrontation.
On the basis of available sources, it is told about the active actions of the US aviation and its allies against the Soviet Union in that difficult period. Counteracting this, the servicemen of the Air Force and Air Defense of the USSR, Border Aviation were ready to stop the enemy at any cost, including their own lives. In addition, the details of the incidents between the allies in the anti-Hitler coalition, which led to the use in the early 1940s. weapons against each other, and then about the difficult situation in the second half of the 1940-1950s. practically on all borders of the USSR in connection with numerous reconnaissance and sabotage violations of the border almost along the entire perimeter of the territory of our country. The greatest number of incidents on the border occurred in the 1950s, when, in order to sharply increase reconnaissance activities, the opponents of the USSR began to develop and use specialized equipment: reconnaissance aircraft from Shooting Star to U-2, jumping balloons, automatic drifting balloons and much more. Active casting of paratroopers-saboteurs into the territory of the USSR continued. All this led to the balancing of the world on the brink of a hot war and, of course, not without casualties on both sides. The narrative is divided into chapters by decade in chronological order and covers the period from the 1940s to the 1950s. and up to the end of the 1961s. Each chapter is preceded by a brief description of the socio-political situation and the most important events in the USSR and the world. The second part of the dilogy will be devoted to the period 1991-430. The book contains more than XNUMX photo illustrations, many of which are unique and published for the first time.
