The book by the famous writer Gan Bao, "Notes on the Search for Spirits," is one of the oldest and most famous monuments of Chinese literature, telling about "what Confucius did not talk about" - about a variety of evil spirits: about the spirits of mountains, rivers, forests and their tricks, about hermits, werewolves and miracle workers. Gan Bao conceived his book as proof of the existence of spirits. "Notes on the Search for Spirits" have remained in the centuries as the most universal and comprehensive collection of fantastic stories, the plots of which are used in Chinese literature up to our time.
