Lydia Yakovlevna Ginzburg (1902-1990) was an outstanding Russian writer and a famous literary scholar, whose works are studied at universities and are of great interest to all connoisseurs of the history of Russian literature and poetry. Her work "Notes of a Blockade Man" is one of the valuable testimonies of the borderline experience of a person who found herself in a city under siege. And this person is a woman in her everyday reality. In the text, the author constantly addresses the opposition of female and male views on what is happening. The second part of the book is occupied by works entitled "Prose of the war years", which includes works written in 1942-1945. These works belong to what Ginzburg later called "intermediate literature" because it combines both documentary and fiction.
