Writer Anne Gallagher has been fascinated by Ireland since childhood and is proud of her Irish roots. The young American comes to Ireland hoping to uncover her family history, which is fraught with mysteries and closely intertwined with the most tragic chapters of the Irish Revolution.

A search for details leads Anne to an incredible time travel adventure. Anne finds herself in 1921 and at the epicenter of the struggle for Irish independence. Dr. Thomas Smith, who saved her life, mistakes Anne for another woman and suspects her of being a spy. However, Thomas is unable to resist his attraction to the mysterious "guest." And his love is mutual.

Anne finds herself caught up in a political struggle whose outcome she already knows. Anne has no power to influence the course of history, but can she change her family's history for the sake of a greater love?
