"The Second World War" is an outstanding work by the 20th-century British politician Winston Churchill, which is a logical continuation of "The World Crisis" (1911-1918). He used documents available after the war and conducted a large critical analysis of the prerequisites, causes and course of the war, paying attention, among other things, to his personal participation in the events.

The eleventh book, "The Period of Victory", describes the events from mid-1944 to January 1945 - the landing in Normandy and the Allied operations on the fronts of Europe and in the Pacific Ocean at the final stage of the war, as well as the tragic stories of the Polish and Greek uprisings.

The events of the twelfth book, "The Iron Curtain", describe the last victorious period of WWII, from January to July 1945, starting with the Yalta Conference and ending with the peace conference in Potsdam.
