Vladimir Sergeevich Bushin (1924-2019) was an outstanding Soviet and Russian writer, publicist, journalist, and social activist. He belonged to a small part of the Soviet intelligentsia, which did not give up its ideals after the collapse of the USSR and fought against desovietization. In his book he sarcastically, vividly and wittily shows a whole gallery of familiar images of Putin's time, including the top leaders of the state. Constantly comparing them with the leaders of the USSR, such as Lenin and Stalin, V. S. Bushin shows the fundamental differences between the Soviet rule and the current one, the situation in the country then and now, the state of society and culture. According to one of the reviewers of this book, future citizens of Russia will be able to get a good idea of our time, its problems, disputes and faces.
