Boris Aleksandrovich Dekhterev (1908-1993) was a Russian artist-illustrator; he was the chief artist at the publishing house "Children's Literature"; he illustrated works by A.S. Pushkin, M.Y. Lermontov, M. Gorky, A. Gaidar and many other authors.
In his work B.A. Dekhterev relied on Russian realistic illustration. His drawings show how virtuoso the artist mastered the technique of watercolor. Household items, clothes - everything in Dekhterev's illustrations is well thought out and corresponds to the time depicted. Bright, fairy-tale and at the same time realistic drawings of this artist adore to consider children for a long time. Our book reproduces Boris Dekhterev's illustrations for Charles Perrault's fairy tales "Little Red Riding Hood", "Cinderella", "Puss in Boots" and "Sleeping Beauty".
