The International Military Tribunal at Nuremberg passed a just sentence on the leaders of the Third Reich. However, the world did not learn the whole truth about one of the most terrible crimes of the Nazis. On the basis of a huge array of documents, including never published in Russian, Egor Yakovlev convincingly proves: in the spring of 1941, the leaders of Germany secretly agreed on a plan for the partial extermination of the peoples of the USSR. From 20 to 30 million people were to become its victims already during the winter of 1941-1942. Such seemingly different tragedies as the extermination of Soviet prisoners of war, the artificial famine in the cities, the burning of villages, the siege of Leningrad, and partly the Holocaust, in fact came from the same setup and were links in the same chain. The book, which you hold in your hands, contains a fundamentally new view of Hitler's aggression and should serve as a serious argument for the official recognition of the genocide of Soviet peoples by the Nazis. For the second edition, the author has substantially revised the text and doubled its volume. 2nd edition, revised and enlarged.
