Do you already know the Jean brothers from the previous books in The Adventures of the Cherbourg Family series? Then you know for sure: when there are six sons in a family, you can forget about peace and tranquility forever. Especially when two of them are suddenly teenagers. The eldest Jean A. wants to be the idol of youth, and now the whole family is threatened by the invasion of "a terrible and dangerous species of the human race" - girls. After watching his brother, Jean B. vowed never to fall in love. He'd rather be a Sea Scout! Except that he doesn't know yet that a big surprise awaits him in the scout troop... In general, there is absolutely nowhere to escape from adolescence. And although his mom always has everything under control, and his dad is a jack of all trades and a very good doctor, this time they won't be able to protect the Zhans: this year the family will have to find out what a real youth party is... The author of this book is Frenchman Jean-Philippe Arroux-Vigneault - one of the very six brothers Zhans, about whom we will talk. To be even more precise - Jean B., the second in seniority. Ever since he was a child, Arroux-Vigneault loved to read. In 1984 he published his first "adult" novel, for which he received the "Best Debut" award, and a few years later published a second book - a children's book. Today Arroux-Vigneault is the author of about thirty books, head of the children's literature department in the largest independent French publishing house "Gallimard". His series "Adventures of the family from Cherbourg", so beloved by children and parents in France, he created in collaboration with the famous illustrator Dominique Corbason, whose work can be seen on the pages of magazines such as Cosmopolitan, Madame Figaro and Vanity Fair. In spirit, "The Adventures of the Cherbourg Family" is reminiscent of the famous "Baby Nicolas" by René Gosinni and Jean-Jacques Sampe: the heroes of "The Family" are the same cheerful, restless boys who are eager to do something. The publishing house "CompassGuide" has already published four books about the brothers Jean - "Omelette with Sugar", "Flying Cheese", "Goldfish Soup" and "Chocolate Vacation". "The Cherry on the Cake" (2013) is the fifth book in the series.
