The collection of works by the remarkable writer Boris Lvovich Vasiliev (1924-2013) includes two of his famous novels “Hello to You from Baba Lera” and “The House That Grandfather Built”. In the first of them one of the most exciting topics of the author is continued - the heroic, sublime and tragic fate of the intelligentsia, its deeds and errors. It eventually sided with violence, destroyed a centuries-old monarchy, and not only brought left-wing extremists to power, but also suffered the most brutal repression. And only due to the fact that its traditions were not completely destroyed, she managed to informally lead the people during the Patriotic War, which led to victory.
The second novel introduces readers to the young generation of the noble Oleksin family. They were given a severe trial: The First World War, the abdication of the Emperor, the Revolution, the Civil War. The rupture of Russian statehood led to the split of the family, forcing its members to stand on opposite sides of the barricades. But the main character, having passed through many ordeals with honor, remained faithful to himself, his duty and his Fatherland to the end.
The book is published on the 100th anniversary of the birth of the author.
