"Diplomacy is the art of managing force." This is what one of the most influential foreign policy statesmen of the 20th century, Henry Kissinger, says. In 1969-1975, he was the national security adviser to the American president, and from 1973 to 1977, he was the US Secretary of State. In his book, he tells how he used diplomatic means to fight the main enemy of the US, the Soviet Union under Brezhnev; how the US managed to finally crush the USSR under Gorbachev. In addition, Kissinger evaluates the relations between the US and Russia under Putin (with whom, according to media reports, he met 17 times), and writes about the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
