This humorous novella by the English satirist, humorist, and playwright Jerome K. Jerome (1859-1927), first published in full in 1889, is an account of a boat trip on the River Thames between Kingston and Oxford. The novella was translated into Russian by Mikhail Aleksandrovich Donskoy (1913-1996) and Elga Lvovna Linetskaya (1909-1997); the text is illustrated with 61 drawings by the artist Maxim Gennadyevich Sharaev (1963).
