The Revolutionary Workers' Party (PRT) was the only Trotskyist party in the 20th century that not only went underground but also engaged in guerrilla warfare against the government of Jorge Videla. It was PRT fighters who carried out the only successful seizure of a nuclear power plant in history. In this book, one of its main ideologists, Luis Mattini, recalls how he and his comrades rose from a student philosophy circle to a thousands-strong guerrilla army with connections in Havana, Moscow, and Pyongyang. Mattini's recollections of his visit to the USSR and his friendship with the Soviet Latin Americanist Kiva Maidaniq are of great interest. Even as a Trotskyist, Mattini considered the Soviet Union the greatest country on the planet and viewed it with incredible enthusiasm.
