One of the most popular children's fairy tales in the world is "The Three Little Pigs." The English folktale about the three little pigs has been known since the 19th century. Based on this folktale, Sergei Vladimirovich Mikhalkov, a classic of Russian children's literature, retold it in the 1930s. Each little pig not only received its own name: Nif-Nif, Nuf-Nuf, Naf-Naf, but also its own personality. The characters began to sing cheerful songs. The little pigs had to endure all the trials and, by their example, show young readers how to grow up properly, how to become a strong and happy "little pig."

The illustrations for this book were drawn by the renowned cartoonist Konstantin Rotov. His little pigs resemble the characters from the iconic Disney cartoon, but at the same time have their own distinct personalities. This fairy tale has become a classic of Russian literature thanks to the work of two talented cultural figures—Sergei Mikhalkov and Konstantin Rotov.
