Nadezhda Aleksandrovna Lokhvitskaya, the famous Teffi, is one of the most striking figures in Russian literature at the beginning of the 20th century. After her first collection of humorous stories, published in 1910, Teffi gained enormous popularity, which has not abated to this day. Zoshchenko wrote about her: “She is considered the most entertaining and ‘funny’ writer. And on a long journey, they always take a volume of her stories.” Teffi’s humorous stories were read with bated breath in palaces and huts. Her talent was highly valued by the best contemporary writers, along with ordinary people, whom Teffi loved to depict in her stories. This edition includes Teffi’s best stories from different years.
