Frederick Paul (1919-2013) was an American writer, winner of numerous awards: Hugo, Nebula, Locus, John Campbell and Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Awards... Being an ardent fan of science fiction, at the age of 19 he founded the Futurian Society together with Isaac Asimov, Cyril Kornblatt, Damon Knight and began to publish and edit the magazines "Astounding Stories" and "Super Science Stories", which published many future "monsters" of science fiction. F. Paul's editorial work was quickly recognized among professionals, but the writer's fame came to him in 1952, with the publication of "Merchants of Space", and since 1972, followed by many awards - both for novels and small form. Frederick Paul brilliantly shuffles genres and literary trends: journalism, children's fiction, adventure and acute social science fiction - but the greatest effect is achieved by describing pictures of a disturbing "near future", where giant trading corporations have completely suppressed the voice of the free individual, and advertising has replaced the inhabitants of the Earth culture - a world of triumphant capitalism, where "The Truman Show" meets "The Matrix" and "Dark City" ....
